AcA Exhibitions
 | December 13 - 31, 2008, 6-8 pm, in conjunction with 2nd Saturday Artwalk, this exhibition represents Patrick H. Ricard's first large body of non-functional sculptural work and is entitled "Point of Departure". For more than 20 years Ricard has been a maker of fine furnishings and liturgical works, a self taught artisan. Though, prior to his exhibit, his work was functional, it had always come through from his love of the process, of working with his hands, of letting Spirit take over, and allowing the material to tell him what he wanted to become.

 | On October 11th ArtWalk, the Acadiana Center for the Arts opens with of the most fascinating soul-stirring exhibits, Soul Texture:A Survey of Works: by Dennis Paul Williams. Williams’ works have since evolved into expressions of his deep spirituality. The objects he creates are imbued with beauty and intrinsic spiritual power.Williams has also gained much international acclaim through playing guitar in his brother’s band, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas. As the band travels the U.S., Europe, and Japan, Williams shows his paintings to art collectors and museums. | | Catalog: $25 Shipping: $5 |
