The Acadiana Arts Council's Arts in Education program strives to make quality arts-in-education opportunities available to administrators, educators and students through performance, hands-on arts experiences, professional development training in the arts and funding. These co-curricular arts-in-education offerings are available to students in grades K-12 and to teachers of all disciplines.

Project HEAL Programming
Project HEAL takes great pride in offering employment & programming in many different artistic mediums. These programs are offered in schools, libraries, shelters and community centers throughout Acadiana.
Children's Art Workshops Sustained Winds exhibition artists and PACE artists team up to present Art Workshops for kids. The workshop will begin with an artist-led tour of the exhibition "Sustained Winds: before-during-after." Students will create their own stories, drawings, collages and other artwork based on the work in the exhibition.
Bucket "Drum" Brigade Kids beat their hearts out while jamming to the beat of our professional drummers. Each child drummer will get their own bucket and drum sticks to create beats with the group. Can involve any drummers on our list.
Spoken Word Performance and Workshops DivaStating Entertainment group CEO Peaches and her troupe of VERY accomplished spoken word poets, musicians, and dancers are available for performances. Peaches is also available for workshops and private instruction.
Writing and Editing Workshop Published writer Leonard Earl Johnson offers writing workshops including technical writing, creative writing, short stories, novel writing, fiction, mystery, and so on. Private lessons are also available for $15 per hour.
Papillion Presents Children's entertainer Papillion shares his Acadiana heritage with children through his developed programs: Cajun for Kids!, Zydeco for Kids!, and Mardi Gras Mambo Jambalaya! His vast experience and professional knowledge is a proven success with children. His presentations are extremely entertaining and hands-on.
Ponchartrain to Atchafalaya: A comparison of music from New Orleans to Lafayette Musician Jonno Frishberg and his band offer an educational program comparing the musical styling of two distinct Louisiana cities.
