| Decentralized Arts Funding (DAF) is an arts grant program created and funded by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. The Acadiana Arts Council administers this statewide, parish-by-parish program for the eight Acadiana parishes which comprise Region 4. There are three grant categories for this funding program. Project Assistance grants support exhibits, performances, workshops, the creation of public art, audience services and the creation of new works. Technical Assistance grants provide access to professional expertise and training in an arts discipline or arts administration. Organizational Support grants fund staff support, supplies, materials, rent and other eligible administrative and program costs for arts organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
This funding year non-profit organizations and government entities applied for $1,000-$10,000 per application and were able to submit up to two applications. Non-profit arts organizations applying for Organizational Support were able to request up to 25% of their previous year's operating budget, not to exceed a total grant award of $10,000. No cash match was required. The DAF FY 2009 application deadline was Friday, June 13, 2008 for projects taking place between October 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009. Free Grant Application Assistance Workshops were held April 14-30, 2008. Grants Panelists Review Meetings will be held August 11, 13 and 15, 2008 at the Acadiana Arts Council. Applicants are incouraged to attend (as audience only) but are restricted from participating in the actual panel review process.
