Arts in Education
The Acadiana Arts Council's Arts in Education program strives to make quality arts-in-education opportunities available to administrators, educators and students through performance, hands-on arts experiences, professional development training in the arts and funding. These co-curricular arts-in-education offerings are available to students in grades K-12 and to teachers of all disciplines.

AAC Community Arts Funding
Community Arts Funding supports programs that bring the arts to neighborhood or social service populations. Non-profit social service and community organizations, including youth programs, neighborhood associations and organizations focusing on aging, health, counseling, disabilities and education may request $500-$2,000 per application and may submit up to two applications, but may request no more than $3,000 per grant round. No cash match is required. Individual artists may also apply for a Community Arts Funding grant through and in collaboration with eligible community organizations.
This program is designed to use the arts to address community needs and to expand access to arts experiences to people with limited opportunities. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, artist residencies, workshops, the creation of public artwork, performances and neighborhood festivals. Applications for the 2008 Community Arts Funding grant round are due by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 for projects taking place between February 15, 2008 and October 15, 2008. If you have any questions concerning this program, please contact the Community Development Director, Gwen Richard at (337)233-7060 or Gwen@AcadianaArtsCouncil.org.
